The MTSU Stormwater Program is looking for student volunteers
to help protect the water supplies on campus during an Oct. 19 cleanup event on
campus.
A campus cleanup is set from 1-4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, near
the detention ponds along Rutherford Boulevard on the east side of the MTSU campus. Participating students are advised to wear
old shoes/boots with socks and long pants.
Students should gather at the Rutherford parking lot across
from Greek Row and should look for a tent and volunteer signs in the parking
lot. Volunteers will be cleaning up the grassy areas around the detention ponds
that collect the campus’ stormwater runoff.
The MTSU Stormwater
Program strives to raise awareness about the importance of water quality and to
reduce the amount of pollutants that flow into the water supply through runoff.
