MURFREESBORO — The
issues affecting women in higher education today will be on the table at the
next meeting of the American Association of University Women’s Murfreesboro
branch.
The gathering is slated for 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, in
Room 101 of the Sam Ingram Building, 2269 Middle Tennessee Blvd. in
Murfreesboro. Admission is free, but a $5 fee will be charged for attendees who
eat dinner.
AAUW’s agenda calls for launching committees and a workshop
on equal pay. At a date to be determined later this fall, the group will
sponsor a $tart $mart salary negotiation workshop to help women college
students and working professionals achieve greater salaries and benefits.
In conjunction with the October theme of “History in
Action,” officers will present information about AAUW Murfreesboro’s history of
advocacy for women and girls in education and the workplace.
Donations of baby food and formula are requested with all
donations going to the Domestic Violence Program in Murfreesboro.
