MURFREESBORO — A
group of MTSU students is going to try to achieve a smokeout at a football
game.
The Rho Omicron Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority at MTSU
will hold its 16th annual “Smoke Out Arthritis” barbecue from 4:30
to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in Walnut Grove on campus.
All proceeds will benefit arthritis research and juvenile
arthritis research, the organization’s international philanthropies.
Through the efforts of the Arthritis Foundation, as well as
collegiate and alumnae chapters, Alpha Omicron Pi has been able to provide
grants to fund research for treatments, causes and cures of arthritis.
The fundraiser will take place prior to the football game
between MTSU and Marshall University and will include a silent auction.
Tickets are $7 in advance or at the event. For more information,
