MURFREESBORO — Hole sponsorships are still available for the 29^th annual Tommy T. Martin Chair of Insurance Invitational Scramble Golf Tournament.

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is the title sponsor for this year’s tournament, which will be held Tuesday, April 16, at Champions Run Golf Course on Mount Pleasant Road in Rockvale. Lunch and registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with a noon start, rain or shine.

The purpose of this annual tournament, which raised more than $40,000 last year, is to raise money to fund scholarships for students enrolled in the insurance program at MTSU. Students are selected on the basis of scholastic achievement, leadership potential and dedication to the insurance business.

Hole sponsorships are available for $150 and higher-level sponsorships are available as well. To sign up as a sponsor, go to http://www.mtsu.edu/business/index.php and click on the “register” link at the bottom of the page under tournament information.

“This has been an enormously successful event,” said Dr. Ken Hollman, current holder of the MTSU Chair of Insurance. “We are very proud of the students who have received scholarships.”

More than 575 students have been offered financial assistance through scholarships since 1983-84, with 40 students winning scholarships for the fall 2012 semester.
