MURFREESBORO — A monthlong multimedia exhibit of work
by MTSU photography students will open at the Murfreesboro Center for the Arts
on Friday, April 5, with a special 7 p.m. reception.
The exhibit,
organized by MTSU’s Baldwin Photographic Gallery, features work from
upper-division students in the university’s photography program in the
Department of Electronic Media Communication in the College of Mass
Communication.
It will
showcase the diverse types of photography within the program, including fine art, street, commercial
advertising, fashion, editorial, photojournalism and historic processes.
MTSU
photography students work in digital and wet darkroom media, making the program
unique in the area and one of the few such programs in the nation with such a
wide range of practices.
Both the opening
reception at the Center for the Arts and the exhibit are free to the public and
appropriate for all ages. Food and drink will be available at the reception.
The MTSU
Photography Exhibit 2013 will close on Tuesday, April 30.
The
Murfreesboro Center for the Arts is located just off the Public Square in
Murfreesboro at 110 W. College St. Its operating hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday through Saturday.
