MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The MTSU Schola Cantorum and the Middle
Tennessee Choral Society will blend their voices to celebrate the upcoming
holiday season Monday, Nov. 27, at the 33rd annual performance of George
Frideric Handel’s “Messiah.”
The
concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at Murfreesboro’s First United Methodist
Church at 265 W. Thompson Lane.

The MTSU “Messiah” production once again will
feature a professional orchestra and MTSU student and guest soloists performing
the Christmas portion of the 1741 oratorio, which
includes some of its most popular recitatives, arias and choruses drawn from
the King James Bible and the Anglican Book of Common Prayer.
The choruses to be performed include
“And the glory of the Lord,” “And He shall purify,” “For unto us a child is
born,” “Glory to God” and the familiar “Hallelujah” chorus.
John Kramar, a voice professor at East
Carolina University School of Music in Greenville, North Carolina, will return
as a guest soloist for this year’s concert.
You can
