Retired Lt. Gen. Keith Huber, Dr. Hilary Miller visit ASU
for ideas on service to veterans pursuing higher education
TEMPE, Arizona — Lt. Gen. Keith Huber, the retired Army general now advising MTSU on
ways to enhance its service to veterans, toured Arizona State University
Thursday to tour its Pat Tillman Veterans Center.
The
center was founded in 2011 in memory of Tillman, an ASU and Arizona Cardinals
football star who gave up his pro football career to enlist in the Army after
the 9/11 attacks. Tillman was killed while serving in Afghanistan. The Tillman
center provides assistance and services to the roughly 4,000 veterans on ASU’s
campuses.
Huber,
along with Dr. Hilary Miller of MTSU’s veterans and military committee, was
welcomed to ASU by his West Point classmate, retired Lt. Gen. Benjamin
Freakley, who serves as that university’s special adviser to the president for
leadership initiatives, and retired U.S. Navy Capt. and Tillman Center Director
Steven Borden.
