MURFREESBORO — MTSU
students are turning their gaze toward Africa with an eye to funding education
and promoting political discussion.
Students United for Africa and the Study of Africa, an MTSU
student organization, will conduct a combination bake sale and yard sale from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the Student Union.
Proceeds from the sale will be donated to a nonprofit
organization that helps fund education of children in Ethiopia.
At 7 p.m. Nov. 20, the group will host a forum titled “Where
Is the Unity?” in the State Farm Lecture Hall of the Business and Aerospace
Building.
The forum will focus on stereotypes and other barriers to
unity among the African and African-American communities.
Both events are free and open to the public. For more
information, contact SUASA President Kabelu Stephane Jibikilayi at sjk2r@mtmail.mtsu.edu.
