University employees continue stepping up to contribute to
this year’s Employee Charitable Giving Campaign, with pledges now up to 65
percent of the $115,000 goal.
The annual drive to support nonprofits in the region
officially began Tuesday, Oct. 1, and continues through Friday, Nov. 1.
MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee recently met with top
faculty and administrators for a mid-campaign update, again urging greater
participation across the campus to not only reach the goal, but to greatly
exceed it.
“I’m very appreciative of the efforts being made to reach
our goal,” said McPhee, who provided attendees with updates on the level of
participation by division. “We are making great progress compared to last year
… but we need to crank it up another notch.
“This is something that will really help the community.”
As an extra incentive for the university to reach 110
percent of the goal, McPhee pledged to provide extra travel funds and passes to
the skybox suite for remaining football games for the top divisions.
Donations can be made easily online at www.mtsu.edu/givemtsu, where
you can also track how close the campaign is to reaching its goal.
The campaign committee is conducting drawings for various
prizes, such as prime parking spots and other giveaways, to those who donate.
Watch this campaign update video and the announcement of the latest parking
spot winner. Another drawing will be held Thursday, Oct. 24!
