(MURFREESBORO)—The Heritage Center of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County invites the community to visit during Women’s History Month to learn more about local women and their contributions to our community.
The center also has a new handout available to all that highlights the historic role of women at three area historic sites: Murfreesboro’s Courthouse Square, Bradley Academy Museum and Cultural Center and the Sam Davis Home.
Visitors to the Heritage Center also now have the opportunity to view the exhibit “From the Nation’s Capital to Neighborhood Classrooms: Rutherford County Women, Past and Present,” which features 10 prominent women.
The Heritage Center, located at 225 West College St., in Murfreesboro is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Heritage Center is a joint venture between the Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area, Main Street: Murfreesboro/Rutherford County, the City of Murfreesboro, and the Center for Historic Preservation at Middle Tennessee State University.
Additional support comes from the Rutherford County Government and State Farm Insurance. The Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area receives funding from the National Park Service and is administered by the CHP.
