[030] Summer 2017 MTSU Magazine highlights 10 initiatives improving the quality of academics

MURFREESBORO — The summer 2017 edition of MTSU Magazine includes a list of 10 initiatives taking shape at MTSU, resulting in a campus growing in quantity and, most importantly, in quality.

MTSU is already a great university,” wrote MTSU Magazine editor Drew Ruble. “The largest provider of college-degreed workers in the Midstate, MTSU has experienced significant growth in recent years, including over $700 million in construction. But the University is not done building.”

A few examples of items on the list include:

·      MTSU’s distinguished Board of Trustees, now steering the University as an independent governing body, is comprised of accomplished alumni and other prominent business leaders.
·      MTSU’s newest degree programs and majors match curricula with real-world preparedness, as well as student interest with industry needs.
·      MTSU has strengthened its international initiatives both on campus and around the world.
·      Several new centers on campus are broadening MTSU’s areas of expertise.

Other articles in the new edition of the magazine include:

·      A profile of retired Lt. Gen. Keith M. Huber, who has elevated MTSU’s proud history of military friendliness since his arrival to campus.
·      A profile of scholar-athlete Brent Stockstill, who has done more than simply pass his way to one of the all-time greatest football careers at Middle Tennessee.
·      An interview with MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee regarding the University’s new governing board and the impact it will have on MTSU.

Print copies of MTSU Magazine reach the more than 110,000 graduates of MTSU. An electronic PDF version of MTSU Magazine also is available online at http://bit.ly/MTSUmagS17.
