MURFREESBORO — Dr.
Ming Wang mastered the art of Chinese violin to escape Mao Tse-Tung’s despotic
regime.
To avoid being condemned to a life of poverty and hard labor
during the Cultural Revolution, Wang learned how to play Chinese violin er-hu.
He will perform musical selections for the class along with classical guitarist
Carlos Enrique.
A graduate of Harvard and MIT, Wang performed the world’s
first 3-D LASIK procedure and has performed more than 55,000 surgeries in his
career. He also established the Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration, a
nonprofit organization that has helped patients in more than 40 states and 55
countries.
