[50] 'MTSU On the Record' examines life during wartime in locally based book

MURFREESBORO — Life in the midst of armed struggle between Confederate and Union forces is the next topic on “MTSU on the Record” with host Gina Logue at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, and 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, on WMOT-FM (89.5 and wmot.org).

Shirley Farris Jones, a retired MTSU staffer, and Michael R. Bradley, professor emeritus of history at Motlow State Community College, will discuss their book “Murfreesboro in the Civil War” on the program.

 Their topics range from the lavish wedding of Murfreesboro native Martha Ready to Confederate Gen. John Hunt Morgan to the tragic demise of three Confederate cousins at the hands of federal troops.
