Zheng to Deliver Sept. 13 MTSU Honors Lecture
(MURFREESBORO) — Dr. Guanping Zheng, director of the Confucius Institute at MTSU and associate professor in electronic media communication, will deliver the second of nine presentations in the fall 2010 Honors Lecture Series.
Zheng’s topic will be “Women’s Secret Script in Small Villages in Southern China.” The nearly one-hour lecture, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, in Room 106 (amphitheatre) in the Paul W. Martin Sr. Honors Building.
The fall series is titled “China: The Middle Kingdom in the Modern World.”
The Confucius Institute cosponsors this fall’s Honors Lecture Series.
The mission of the Confucius Institute at MTSU is to enhance the understanding of Chinese language and culture, facilitate engagement with China and create opportunities for exchange and collaboration between communities in Tennessee and China. The institute seeks to become a hub for China-related activities and a resource center for Chinese language, history, contemporary society and culture.

Other Honors Lecture Series dates this fall include Sept. 20, Sept. 27, Oct. 4, Oct. 11, Oct. 25, Nov. 1 and Nov. 8. There is no lecture on Oct. 18 because of fall break.
