Klumpe Brings March 5 Star Party Message at MTSU

(MURFREESBORO, TN) – Dr. Eric Klumpe will discuss the “Kepler Telescope: Finding Earth-like Exoplanets” Friday, March 5, in the Department of Physics and Astronomy’s First Friday Star Party starting at 6:30 p.m. in Wiser-Patten Science Hall Room 102.
Klumpe is a professor in physics and astronomy who has been at MTSU since the fall of 1999. He has earned various degrees including his doctorate from the University of Texas in ’99, and master’s from the University of Memphis in ’96 and Stanford University in ’91.
The 30- to 45-minute lecture will be followed by outdoor telescope observing, weather permitting.
The Star Party is free. Parking is available behind WPS after 4:30 p.m. The public is asked to park only in areas designated for parking. Handicap parking requires a state permit.
To find parking and WPS, at the intersection of East Main Street and Baird Lane, take Baird to the campus. At the stop sign, turn right onto Blue Raider Drive. Turn left onto Friendship Street. Go past parking areas on both sides of the street. At curve in road, turn left into the parking lot. WPS is the second building on the right at the end of the parking lot.
