GUEST PIANIST TERRY McROBERTS GIVES FREE CONCERT AT MTSU
(MURFREESBORO)—Terry McRoberts, professor of music at Union University in Jackson, will give a free piano concert at 8 p.m. Feb. 17 in Hinton Hall of the Wright Music Building on the MTSU campus.
McRoberts will perform Halley's Dance by Libby Larsen, Sonatine No. 2 by Hermann Schroeder, Sonata in C-Sharp Minor by Beethoven, Notturno by Respighi, Silver Clouds Chasing the Moon by Wang Jianzhong, An Evening Get-together by He Luting and Preludes for Piano by George Gershwin. "I am delighted that MTSU and Murfreesboro will have the chance to hear (this) program, which Dr. McRoberts will perform later this year in at Bohai University in Jinzhou, China," said Lynn Rice-See, piano professor and coordinator of keyboard studies at MTSU. Rice-See indicated that both the Gershwin selections and Beethoven's Moonlight sonata were always crowd favorites.
Pianist McRoberts performs frequently as a soloist and a collaborative musician, and as a member of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. He also serves as director of music/organist at Forest Heights United Methodist Church in Jackson.
The Feb. 17 concert is free and open to the public.
