[423] MTSU alumna recounts personal, professional awakening on ‘MTSU On the Record’

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. —An MTSU alumna, now an executive with Home Box Office, recounts the story of the car crash that turned her life around on the next “MTSU On the Record” radio program.

Host Gina Logue’s interview with Carla Moore, author of “CRASH! Leading through the Wreckage,” will air from 9:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, and from 6 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, May 6, on WMOT-FM Roots Radio 89.5 and www.wmot.org.

Moore, who is HBO’s vice president for point of sale strategy in New York, traces her transition from a 300-pound sales associate to a triathlete and major television network executive.

The turning point was when she crashed her car into a concrete median as she was driving to an airport on Sept. 18, 2007.

“The very next day, I vowed to make new choices and actually live the life I’d imagined since college,” Moore said. “After that crash, I’m still living that life.”

Moore spent days with one leg in a brace, one knee bandaged and her face covered with stitches.

Her book, “CRASH!,” is formatted in workbook style so that readers can write notes in the book on their way toward more fulfilling lives.
