[361] Registration open for April 6 MTSU Honors College True Blue Leadership Day




MURFREESBORO, Tenn. —A strong array of five leaders from the fields of business, law, military, academia, athletics and nonprofit headline the annual University Honors College’sTrue Blue Leadership DayFriday, April 6, at MTSU.

The daylong event, held in the Paul W. Martin Sr. Honors Building, brings noted practitioners from a variety of professions to share their leadership experiences with MTSU students, faculty and others.

Speakers include MTSU alumni, an athlete-turned Navy SEAL, a lawyer, a nonprofit leader and more.

The event, which is sponsored by the MTSU Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa and the Honors College, is free and open to the public. To find parking, visit http://tinyurl.com/MTSUParkingMap.

The schedule, including times, speaker’s name, where they work and title of presentation:

• 9:45 to 10:20 a.m. — Registration and refreshments.
• 10:20 to 11:15 a.m. — Colby B. Jubenville, special assistant to the dean in the College of Behavioral and Health Sciences, “Developing the Relational Leader Inside You.”
• 11:30 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. — Lindy Boots, human resources manager with Becton, Dickinson and Company, “What an HR Manager Wants You to Know About Interviewing.”
• 1:50 to 2:45 p.m. — Steve Tybor, president and executive director with Eight Days of Hope, “Nonprofit Leadership: The Simple Idea of Serving.”
• 3 to 3:55 p.m. — Jason Kuhn, leadership consultant with Stonewall Solutions, “The Fundamentals of Winning.”
 • 4 p.m. — reception in lobby.

Ozment and Kuhn are alumni. Ozment is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society. Kuhn is a former MTSU baseball player and Navy SEAL. Boots is speaking for the second time.

“We are honored to welcome five outstanding individuals who will share leadership lessons from their personal and professional experiences,” said Susan Lyons, Honors College and campus ODKcoordinator.

“These leaders have distinguished themselves in service to their schools, business organizations, communities, and country, and will inspire those who attend to pursue excellence in leadership,” Lyons added.
