MURFREESBORO,
Tenn. — The MTSU Campus Recreation Center offers fitness classes six
days each week with a variety of focuses and times to help the MTSU community
have fun while meeting their fitness goals.
MTSU
students, faculty, staff, and community members have the option of paying $2
per class or purchasing the VIP All-Access Fitness Pass ($30 students, $35
for nonstudent members) per semester.
In
addition to being cost effective, pass holders are privy to insider access,
according to Campus Rec officials.
“The
All-Access Fitness Pass allows you a chance to pre-register for classes that
may have a limited number of spots," said Lindsay Joyce, fitness
coordinator. Pass holders are also the first to receive updates on special
events and class cancellations. You can pay per class or purchase the
VIP All-Access Fitness Pass at the Rec Center's equipment rental desk
and online at www.mtsu.edu/camprec.
No
matter what your fitness goals and needs are, MTSU Campus Rec has a group
fitness class that will help you achieve them. The wide variety of classes
focus on cardio, strength and relaxation. Cardio classes include cycling, Dance
Fit, Plyo, POP Pilates, Step and Zumba. Strength classes
include Body Shred, Buns & Guns, Kettlebell, Power Pump, Power Yoga,
Raider Fit and TRX. Relaxation courses include Yoga and Tai Chi. You can find
class schedules and descriptions online.
“I get
bored working out alone, so the group fitness classes give me energy and help
me get to know people on campus," said Sara Pollard, a regular group
fitness class attendee. "I wouldn’t be able to do so many other
things that I enjoy – like hiking and kayaking – if I didn’t consistently
exercise.”
