MURFREESBORO
— MTSU will
be closed Monday, Jan. 21, for the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday.
No
classes will be held and no offices will be open on Jan. 21. Classes will be held as
scheduled on Saturday, Jan. 19.
University classes will
resume and all offices and departments will reopen on their regular schedule on
Tuesday, Jan. 22.
On Monday night, MTSU’s
Center for Student Involvement and Leadership and the Office of Intercultural
and Diversity Affairs will present the Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration
Program from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Keathley University Center Theater.
Members of the MTSU
community will gather to honor King’s life and legacy. The theme for this
year’s celebration is “At the Crossroads of Freedom and Equality: The
Emancipation Proclamation and the March on Washington.” The free public event
will feature a keynote speaker and remarks from a diverse group of presenters.
The
James E. Walker Library will be closed Sunday and Monday, Jan. 20-21, reopening
at 7 a.m. Tuesday. It will be open until 6 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 6
p.m. Saturday.
The
Campus Recreation Center will be closed Monday and will reopen at 6 a.m.
Tuesday. It will be open until 8 p.m. today, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 2-10
p.m. Sunday.
MTSU’s
Campus Pharmacy will be closed Saturday through Monday and will reopen at 8 a.m.
Tuesday. It’s open today until 4 p.m., and the drive-through window is open
until 4:30.
Restaurants
in the Keathley University Center Grill will be closed Saturday through Tuesday
morning. However, the Student Union and its dining locations will be open all
weekend and from 10 a.m. until midnight Monday.
