INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN FORENSIC ODONTOLOGIST VISITS MTSU
Dr. Lowell Levine Presents Free & Open Lecture on Forensic Dentistry Oct. 15
(MURFREESBORO)—Dr. Lowell Levine, a forensic odontologist and one of the top dental experts in the United States, will deliver a free lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, in the State Farm Room of MTSU’s Business and Aerospace Building.
Sponsored by the university’s Forensic Institute for Research and Education and the Distinguished Lecture Fund, Levine’s upcoming talk—which is free and open to the public—is titled “Forensic Dentistry.”
An in-demand lecturer internationally, Levine is director of the New York State Police Medicolegal Investigations Unit. He has been a consultant to the POW/MIA Accounting Command—Central Identification Laboratory in Hawaii and has assisted the U.S. military in the identification of war dead from all past wars.
A past president of the President of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the American Board of Forensic Ondontology and the Forensic Sciences Foundation, respectively, Levine was a forensic consultant to the U.S. House of Representative's Select Committee on Assassination Investigation regarding the death of President John F. Kennedy. He also testified in the case of serial killer Ted Bundy and identified the remains of Nazi doctor Josef Mengele, who sent 400,000 people to Auschwitz.
The author of numerous scientific papers, Levine was a member of the team of scientists who examined the remains of Czar Nicholas II of Russia and his family and identified the remains of slain civil rights activist Medgar Evers.
