MTSU AWARDS NATIONAL MERIT FINALIST SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2007-08 YEAR

(MURFREESBORO)—Middle Tennessee State University representatives recently announced that there is one recipient of the National Merit Finalist Scholarship award for the 2007-08 academic year.
National Merit Finalist Scholarships are awarded to first-time freshmen who notify MTSU of their National Merit Finalist status and indicate MTSU as their first-choice institution.
The lone recipient of the National Merit Finalist Scholarship for the 2007-08 academic year is listed below.

Out of State Recipient
Stephan Henson of Warner Robins, Ga., a graduate of Houston County High School

MTSU remains one of the fastest-growing universities in the state. The official spring 2007 enrollment was 21,296. More than 22,000 students are expected to attend this fall.
MTSU’s minimum entrance requirement for freshmen is a 3.0 high school GPA or a 22 on the ACT, or a combined minimum of 2.7 GPA and ACT of 19.

A recent study conducted by Newsweek surveyed 375 counselors from across the country and stated that MTSU offers one of the nation’s best educational values in the country.
