MTSU AWARDS CHANCELLOR SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2007- 08 YEAR
(MURFREESBORO)─ Middle Tennessee State University representatives recently announced that there are 12 recipients of the Chancellor Scholarship award for the 2007-08 academic year.
Chancellor Scholarships are awarded to first-time freshmen with an ACT composite score of 32 or higher (1410 or higher SAT) and at least a 3.75 cumulative grape-point average through the junior year of high school. The Chancellor Scholarship is one of the top academic scholarships awarded by MTSU.
The following residents, grouped by their respective Tennessee counties (with *out of state recipients listed on the final page), have accepted MTSU’s Chancellor Scholarship and will attend MTSU this fall:
Bedford County
David Craig of Wartrace, Tenn., a graduate of Cascade High School
Coffee County
Jessica Taylor of Manchester, Tenn., a graduate of Coffee County Central High School
Jonathan Sissom of Manchester, Tenn., a graduate of Coffee County Central High School
Rutherford County
Kristiana Brockelsby of Murfreesboro, Tenn., a graduate of Riverdale High School
Sevier County
Whitney Yeldell of Gatlinburg, Tenn., a graduate of Gatlinburg-Pittman High School
Sullivan County
James Buck of Kingsport, Tenn., a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School
Jordan Fey of Bristol, Tenn., a graduate of Tennessee High School
Sumner County
Kristofer Hallfrisch of Westmoreland, Tenn., a graduate of Westmoreland High School

MTSU remains one of the fastest-growing universities in the state. The official spring 2007 enrollment was 21,296. More than 22,000 students are expected to attend this fall.
MTSU’s minimum entrance requirement for freshmen is a 3.0 high school GPA or a 22 on the ACT, or a combined minimum of 2.7 GPA and ACT of 19.

A recent study conducted by Newsweek surveyed 375 counselors from across the country and stated that MTSU offers one of the nation’s best educational values in the country.
