MURFREESBORO — An
annual competition between two fierce Conference USA rivals is the focus of the
next “MTSU On the Record” radio program.
Host Gina Logue’s interview with Ray Wiley, associate
director of campus recreation, will air from 9:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, and
from 6 to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, on WMOT-FM Roots Radio 89.5 and
www.wmot.org.
Wiley is one of the organizers of the seventh annual “Bleed
Blue” blood drive pitting MTSU against Western Kentucky University. The public
is invited to join the campus community in donating blood to the American Red
Cross at the Campus Recreation Center Nov. 13-15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
While walk-ins are welcome, contributors can save time by
making an appointment at www.redcrossblood.org
and typing in “MTSUChallenge.”
“These blood drives will never stop,” said Wiley. “They need
to be ongoing and they need to be supported. They need to be annual just so
that we can keep up with the demand.”
MTSU’s total donations have topped those of Western Kentucky
in four of the prior blood drives.
