MURFREESBORO — With
the start of a new academic year, women collegians are invited to band together
with other academic women to help themselves advance in the university
environment.
The American Association of University Women’s Murfreesboro
branch will host “Busking at the Boulevard” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at
The Boulevard Bar & Grille, 2154 Middle Tennessee Blvd. in Murfreesboro.
The open house and fundraiser presents an opportunity for
new members to join AAUW for half-priced dues. The September branch meeting
will precede the open house at 5 p.m. in Room 101 of the Sam Ingram Building at
2269 Middle Tennessee Blvd.
In addition, donations are welcome to support nationwide
AAUW programs such as $mart $tart, which funds workshops to help college women
entering the job market negotiate salaries and benefits, and the National
College Conference for Women Student Leaders. All donations are tax-deductible.
