More than 90 employers scheduled to participate
MURFREESBORO
— MTSU students and alumni on the job hunt should
dress their best and update their resumes for the long list of employers who
will be on hand Oct. 23 at this year’s Fall Career Fair on campus.
Hosted by the Career
Development Center of Middle Tennessee State University, this year’s event will
be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, in the second floor ballroom of
the Student Union, a change from the normal location on the track area at
Murphy Center. The free fair is open to current MTSU students or alumni.
The Fall Career Fair is the university’s
largest on-campus fair of the year, with over 90 employers, 25 graduate and
professional schools, and 1,000 students expected to attend. Students and
alumni should dress in business attire and bring multiple copies of their
resumes to give to employers while at the Career Fair.
There will be a variety of
organizations from business, industry and nonprofits in attendance hiring for
internship and entry-level positions. This fair is an opportunity for students
to meet and network with potential employers in their field. A list of current
registered employers and graduate schools can be found on the Career Center’s
website at www.mtsu.edu/career.
“This is the earliest we have
ever sold out on the business and industry side of the fair,” said Bill
Fletcher, director of the Career Development Center. “And we still have a
waiting list of employers wanting to attend.”
Graduate and professional
schools will also be recruiting for their programs and will be located in the first-floor
atrium of the Student Union.
The Career Development Center
is a comprehensive center that serves all students in each of MTSU’s nine
colleges. MTSU students and alumni may come to the Career Development Center’s
office in room 328 of the Keathley University Center for walk-in advising,
resume critique and more. Scheduled appointments are also available with career
advisers. Corporate sponsors of the Fall Career Fair include Ingram Content
Group, EFC Systems, Sam’s Club and Aflac.
