MURFREESBORO — Great
deals on books, DVDs, tapes and records will be available at a scholarship
fundraiser at MTSU.
The Murfreesboro chapter of the American Association of
University Women, or AAUW, will accept donations from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday,
March 22, and Saturday, March 29, at MTSU’s Lyon Hall.
The items will be up for grabs at the chapter’s annual book
sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 7-9 in the first-floor lobby of MTSU’s
McWherter Learning Resources Center.
Hardbacks and DVDs will cost $2 each, and paperbacks, tapes
and records will cost $1 each.
All proceeds will fund the Ruth Houston Memorial
Scholarship, a $1,000 stipend that is awarded to an MTSU student each semester.
“AAUW Murfreesboro has been awarding scholarships to MTSU
students since the 1960s,” said Dr. Ayne Cantrell, AAUW member and MTSU
professor emerita. “The book sale is our only fundraiser for the scholarship.”

professor of history at MTSU and book sale coordinator, at cathy.crabtree@mtsu.edu.
