FORMER NEW YORK LIBRARY MAP DIVISION HEAD RETURNS TO MTSU
Alice Hudson Leaves Hudson River for Stones River, Remembrances at Alma Mater
MURFREESBORO—Alice Hudson, former head of the New York Public Library Map Division and MTSU alumna, will discuss her 39-year career in an informal, free public talk at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, in the Buchanan Room of the James E. Walker Library.
In her position with the New York Public Library, Hudson was in charge of some 400,000 maps and thousands of books and atlases dating from the 15th century to the present day.
Hudson earned her bachelor’s degree in geography in 1969 and her master’s degree in library science from George Peabody College in 1970.
