MURFREESBORO—The TSSAA High School Basketball Tournaments will be held at Middle Tennessee State University’s Murphy Center beginning Tuesday, March 4, through Saturday, March 8, for the girls’ competition, and Wednesday, March 12, through Saturday, March 15, for the boys’ competition. The Greenland Drive lots will be reserved for TSSAA ticket-holders. There will be a charge of $5.00 to park in that lot.
As in the past, team buses will park along the east side of Middle Tennessee Boulevard which will create a brief single lane of traffic heading north. The Faulkinberry Drive entrance from Middle Tennessee Boulevard will be closed Tuesday through Saturday for the girls’ tournament and closed Wednesday through Saturday for the boys tournament the following week. Faulkinberry Drive will also close at Normal Way. The following lots will be reserved for vehicles displaying the appropriate MTSU permits: Woodfins, Maintenance, Horseshoe, Corral, S-Curve/CKNB (Nursing) and Art Barn. Visitors with appropriate permits will also be allowed to park in these lots. People attending the tournament games will be routed to the outer lots surrounding campus, including the Tennessee Livestock and Rutherford Boulevard parking areas. The Raider Xpress Shuttle Service will run its normal schedule during the TSSAA tournaments, with the exception of the "Green Route." The "Green Route" will not service Greenland Drive parking lot but instead will service the Tennessee Livestock Lot. The route will then service the lots along Crestland Drive as normal. The route will re-enter campus behind the James Union Building and make its way up Old Main by Peck Hall and Kirksey Old Main. The route will then take a right on Faulkinberry Drive and head out of campus via Champion's Way back to the Tennessee Livestock Lot. The arm-gate will be down during this time to allow access for faculty and staff entering from the south of campus via Old Main. The TSSAA Tournaments attract thousands of prospective students, their families, alumni and other university supporters to Murfreesboro and the MTSU campus. Everyone’s cooperation and assistance is appreciated in helping to welcome visitors to MTSU.
