(MURFREESBORO) — Registration has been extended until Oct. 6 for the 10th annual Expanding Your Horizons in Math and Science, a conference for girls in grades 5-8, event director Judith Iriarte-Gross said.
The conference will be held from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, across the MTSU campus.
To register, go to mtsu.edu/~eyh. Look for the registration button on the left side. Complete, print out and mail the form to Iriarte-Gross, c/o MTSU EYH, P.O. Box 161, Murfreesboro, TN 37132.
Iriarte-Gross, associate professor, chemistry, said up to 400 girls from the Middle Tennessee region, Chattanooga and elsewhere would be attending.
MTSU faculty members and community professionals will conduct the workshops to encourage girls to consider science, mathematics, engineering and technology career fields, Iriarte-Gross said.
