MURFREESBORO, Tenn. —
Representatives from the Charlie and
Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center recently thanked
Nashville business LKQ Corp. for its
hiring of MTSU student veteran Jason
Gill.
Led by Keith M. Huber,
senior adviser for veterans and leadership initiatives, and Daniels Center
Director Hilary Miller, MTSU’s
veterans program awarded a certificate of appreciation to LKQ executives Friday
(Jan. 19) at their Grassmere Park Drive office in Nashville.
The Daniels
Center and its Veterans
Transitioning Home Office continues to present framed certificates of
appreciation to companies who have hired MTSU student veterans or family
members, and for demonstrating continuous support to this population.
Huber and Miller made the presentation to LKQ’s Steve Gupton, Jack Patterson and T.C.
Olson. Gupton and Patterson are veterans; Olson currently is serving.
Following the visit and presentation, Gill, an accounting
systems coordinator, emailed a thank-you to the Daniels leadership team “for
taking the time out of your busy schedule to meet with some of our company’s
leaders.”
“I absolutely enjoyed spending time with you, Dr. Miller, and Lt. Gen. Huber,” Gill wrote in his
email to Shane Smith, a leader in the Daniels Center’s Veterans Transitioning
Home Office that tries to match students with potential employers.
Huber is a
retired U.S. Army lieutenant general with nearly 40 years of service to his
country.
“I am also very
appreciative of your service to this nation’s veterans,” Gill added. “Your
service and your team will be in my thoughts and prayers as you serve our
nation’s finest.”
LKQ Corp. is a
global distributor of vehicle products, including replacement parts, components
and systems used in the repair and maintenance of vehicles, as well as
specialty vehicle products and accessories.
The Veterans Transitioning Home Office assists students with
all aspects of the career decision-making and job search processes. Smith is
veterans’ employee search agent.
