MTSU HONORS NONTRADITIONAL STUDENTS WITH ACTIVITIES
Learners Who Juggle College and Adult Responsibilities to be Feted on Campus

(MURFREESBORO) – Nontraditional Student Week at MTSU, Nov. 1-5, will be a celebration of the adult learner who realizes it’s never too late to expand one’s intellectual and professional possibilities.
Dr. Judith Iriarte-Gross, professor of chemistry and faculty advisor to Girls Raised in Tennessee Science (GRITS), will conduct a presentation on nontraditional careers from 12-1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, in Room 320 of the Keathley University Center (KUC).
Starting Monday, a limited number of free T-shirts will be available in Room 320 of the KUC. Tables featuring brochures and flyers with valuable information about resources available to nontraditional students at MTSU will be available and posters featuring nontraditional students will be on display in the second floor lobby of the KUC from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3.
The annual Nontraditional Student Dinner is slated for 5:30-7:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, in Room 318 of the KUC. Please make reservations by Tuesday, Nov. 2, by calling 615-898-5989. The turkey, ham and tea will be provided. Each person is asked to bring a side dish.
Nontraditional Student Week is sponsored by the June Anderson Center for Women and Nontraditional Students, Older Wiser Learners (OWLs), the organization for students, regardless of age, who have adult responsibilities outside of campus, and Pinnacle, the honors society for nontraditional students.
